February 2018

February wasn't quite as hectic as the last few months, but still had it's fair share of events!

I got to love on sweet Jack at lunch one day with Sara and Prissy. His straight faces crack me up! You have to work super hard to get a smile out of this kiddo! Snapchat filters did NOT amuse him.
On Super Bowl Sunday- Macie Claire was a little under the weather. We were convinced that she had the flu....since everyone else in the state seemed to have it!
She spent a lot of the day in bed.
That was all the smile I could get from her.

Coloring and a movie on the lap top- perfect sick day activities!
She was finally feeling well enough to come to the living room to color with me during the game.
The next day she stayed home with Daddy- but finally started feeling a little better.
I snapped this picture of Macie and Wyatt chatting it up at Brenna's volleyball game. LOVE these two!!

Josh and I snuck in an early Valentine's date night to go eat crawfish at Razoos. SOOOO good!!!

And finished off our night at Northside Remedy with a glass of wine.
We love any time we can get with our girls, but some nights it is nice to get out just the two of us!
More snuggles with this angel.
Valentine's day!
Most girls want chocolates and jewelry....not this girl!! And my husband knows me well.
Mrs. Prissy sent the girl's their Valentine's goody bags. Such loved girls!
We spent our night grilling steaks outside and enjoying each other. Couldn't think of a better way to spend Valentine's day!

Our weekends are generally consumed with volleyball. And I wouldn't change it for anything!

On February 20th, our Tuesday lunch group celebrated Sara's 70th birthday.
She makes 70 look good!
I used my new toy to make her present.
The next morning we woke up to yucky weather!
When I headed to work it was just starting to get yucky, but the roads were still ok. As the day progressed- it just got worse! I ended up leaving before they even turned WISD out because it was worse in Peaster than in Weatherford. Josh had already picked up  the girls.
The next day, it was really rough looking! But luckily the roads weren't terrible. School was canceled, but we were able to get out and go to Mineral Wells to drop Josh off with Pops for their trip to Big Bend!
Our yard looked like a war zone!

Lots of people were without power due to the ice on the trees.
Macie went to Maylee's to play, and Landry came to our house!

The girls made some yummy brownies! But just as they came out of the oven....our power went out! That's not pleasant when you are home alone and the temps are in the 30s! I finally got my car out of the garage and drove to Brandi's. They were just deciding that we should all go out to eat since we didn't have power. So the girls and I decided to go with them in hopes of the power being back on when we got back. Luckily it came back on right before we left, but we headed out anyway.
Weatherford didn't look nearly as bad as Peaster!
On Saturday, we had lunch at Pizza Place and the girls got to love on sweet Jack!

That night, we planned on going to the movies to see The Greatest Showman. The girls had talked Sara into going with us since Mr. Don was out of town. While we were waiting to leave her house, Brenna played on SnapChat. I love this sweet face!!

This face?? ummmm....LOL!
But when we got to Film Alley to get our tickets, the only ones left were at the front....NOPE! I can't do that! SO- we altered our plans and let the girls play in the arcade for a while, went to Belk, then had a late supper at Braums! Even though the day didn't go as planned, we still had fun!

After Josh got home from Big Bend, he was cleared to go back to work. And on his first shift back, he called me and said he decided to study for the lieutenant test! So- in 24 hours we went from normal life to "study life". I hadn't been through a fire department test since Brenna was about 6 months old. I remembered that it wasn't easy....and took a lot out of us all. BUT- it would be worth it in the end! And I was so proud of him for choosing to better his career and putting so much time and effort into this test. So the girls and I did our part to try to be supportive and encourage him!
Our nights looked a lot like this....
Kids running in from telling him good night before they went to bed. Only this night involved an umbrella and wet feet! haha!
