February 2018

February wasn't quite as hectic as the last few months, but still had it's fair share of events!

I got to love on sweet Jack at lunch one day with Sara and Prissy. His straight faces crack me up! You have to work super hard to get a smile out of this kiddo! Snapchat filters did NOT amuse him.
On Super Bowl Sunday- Macie Claire was a little under the weather. We were convinced that she had the flu....since everyone else in the state seemed to have it!
She spent a lot of the day in bed.
That was all the smile I could get from her.

Coloring and a movie on the lap top- perfect sick day activities!
She was finally feeling well enough to come to the living room to color with me during the game.
The next day she stayed home with Daddy- but finally started feeling a little better.
I snapped this picture of Macie and Wyatt chatting it up at Brenna's volleyball game. LOVE these two!!

Josh and I snuck in an early Valentine's date night to go eat crawfish at Razoos. SOOOO good!!!

And finished off our night at Northside Remedy with a glass of wine.
We love any time we can get with our girls, but some nights it is nice to get out just the two of us!
More snuggles with this angel.
Valentine's day!
Most girls want chocolates and jewelry....not this girl!! And my husband knows me well.
Mrs. Prissy sent the girl's their Valentine's goody bags. Such loved girls!
We spent our night grilling steaks outside and enjoying each other. Couldn't think of a better way to spend Valentine's day!

Our weekends are generally consumed with volleyball. And I wouldn't change it for anything!

On February 20th, our Tuesday lunch group celebrated Sara's 70th birthday.
She makes 70 look good!
I used my new toy to make her present.
The next morning we woke up to yucky weather!
When I headed to work it was just starting to get yucky, but the roads were still ok. As the day progressed- it just got worse! I ended up leaving before they even turned WISD out because it was worse in Peaster than in Weatherford. Josh had already picked up  the girls.
The next day, it was really rough looking! But luckily the roads weren't terrible. School was canceled, but we were able to get out and go to Mineral Wells to drop Josh off with Pops for their trip to Big Bend!
Our yard looked like a war zone!

Lots of people were without power due to the ice on the trees.
Macie went to Maylee's to play, and Landry came to our house!

The girls made some yummy brownies! But just as they came out of the oven....our power went out! That's not pleasant when you are home alone and the temps are in the 30s! I finally got my car out of the garage and drove to Brandi's. They were just deciding that we should all go out to eat since we didn't have power. So the girls and I decided to go with them in hopes of the power being back on when we got back. Luckily it came back on right before we left, but we headed out anyway.
Weatherford didn't look nearly as bad as Peaster!
On Saturday, we had lunch at Pizza Place and the girls got to love on sweet Jack!

That night, we planned on going to the movies to see The Greatest Showman. The girls had talked Sara into going with us since Mr. Don was out of town. While we were waiting to leave her house, Brenna played on SnapChat. I love this sweet face!!

This face?? ummmm....LOL!
But when we got to Film Alley to get our tickets, the only ones left were at the front....NOPE! I can't do that! SO- we altered our plans and let the girls play in the arcade for a while, went to Belk, then had a late supper at Braums! Even though the day didn't go as planned, we still had fun!

After Josh got home from Big Bend, he was cleared to go back to work. And on his first shift back, he called me and said he decided to study for the lieutenant test! So- in 24 hours we went from normal life to "study life". I hadn't been through a fire department test since Brenna was about 6 months old. I remembered that it wasn't easy....and took a lot out of us all. BUT- it would be worth it in the end! And I was so proud of him for choosing to better his career and putting so much time and effort into this test. So the girls and I did our part to try to be supportive and encourage him!
Our nights looked a lot like this....
Kids running in from telling him good night before they went to bed. Only this night involved an umbrella and wet feet! haha!

January 2018

Maybe I will get caught up on 2018 before 2019 gets here....but I wouldn't hold my breath!
We started 2018 pretty low key.
I love snuggles with this cutie!

Cheering on Bama! Roll Tide!

Mace and Jake love to snuggle
Josh shot a deer....and Macie got in on the picture action!

When the Christmas lights need to come down, but Daddy just had foot surgery and can't climb a ladder..... You call in 10 year old reinforcements! She wasn't super thrilled. But she had us rolling when she said "It's not being on the roof that I'm afraid of. It's falling off the roof that scares me!" hahaha! I love this kid and her witty sense of humor.

The girls got their report cards. Who's kids are these anyway??? There must have been some mix up at the hospital!

For her birthday, Brenna requested a trip to Mimi's and to go shopping. I talked to Mimi about it when I was there and asked if it was ok if we came, but made SURE to make her promise that she wouldn't do anything to prepare for us to come, and would let me do all the grocery shopping. Much to my surprise- she listened!!
So I left work early on Friday and grabbed the girls and we headed north for a weekend of fun!
We drove straight to the outlet mall to squeeze in some shopping before heading to Mimi's. It was supposed to be cold on Saturday, so we wanted to get a little of our list checked off on Friday.
I love my time with these girls!!
Macie and those glasses...hahaha!
We made it to El Reno just in time to pick up our Mimi and make it to SIDS for supper!
After supper, I got the girls in bed and gathered Mimi's grocery list as well as my own for meals for the weekend and headed out to Walmart! It was late, but I wanted to get it done and not have to do it the next day.
On Saturday, we got up early and had our traditional cinnamon rolls before dressing and heading out for another day of shopping- but this time with Taron!
Brenna did a lot of damage at Bath and Body Works and Vera Bradley, but we all did some damage throughout the day!
This girl got her MeMawMom's shopping gene for sure!
disclaimer: Those were ALL of our bags! BUT- it was early in the day too.
Our lunch was a soft pretzel and a Dr Pepper.
Macie and I were dragging a bit after lunch, so we left Brenna and Taron to finish their shopping and we headed toward El Reno to get the birthday cake and get things ready at Mimi's house for a family supper celebrating Mimi and Brenna.
We were so glad that Roby and Kyson came over to celebrate with us! The girls had a blast playing with Kyson (and Nolan and Taron!)
We had a great Taco supper, and are always entertained by these two!

Lego fun

Nolan and Taron didn't want to be left out!
Then we sang to Mimi and Brenna and had cake and ice cream.

I LOVE this picture!!! She was so proud to share the birthday celebration with her 84 year old Mimi.
After cake we played a mean game of Speak Out.

Kyson's tissue tucked in his cracked me up! He couldn't stop drooling!

We had a blast! And the other adults just enjoyed laughing AT us!

On Sunday we just hung out at Mimi's house and watched movies and played cards. It was a great day for relaxing! And the girls stayed in their pajamas most of the day! This was the only picture I took on Sunday, but it pretty much sums up our day!
On Monday we got up and got dressed to head home. It was a nice long weekend!
I captured this sweet moment of Macie teaching her Mimi about math.
As we were pulling out of Mimi's driveway, we decided to see if SIDS was open- and it was!!
It was a great weekend celebrating my big girl and enjoying our family. I treasure all of these moments.
January is full of birthdays for us, especially towards the end. On the 21st we went to church with Nina to celebrate her birthday!
81 looks good on her!
Macie Claire lost a tooth...but not without a lot of tears! There were many attempts that ended with this face...
But thankfully Pops is the master tooth puller! And he finally got that nasty tooth out! (it may have cost him some cash...but still)
Cutest toothless grin ever!
On Brenna's actual birthday, we started with our traditional powdered donut cake tower!
I couldn't find a candle, so this one had to do! ha! Mom fail.
Macie Claire and I feel the same way about mornings....
At school, Brenna got a special delivery from Pops and Memaw!
That evening we went out to dinner. As is tradition again- we took Tia with us and went to Chili's!
I love these three kiddos and their bond.
To top off the meal, these three DEVOURED a molten chocolate cake with ice cream!
Macie's face....oh my.
And since I love a good tradition picture....Here are 5 of Brenna's last 6 birthday dinners! We missed a year somewhere...not sure how. I'm pretty sure it was a year we ate at Chili's but forgot a picture...
The celebration didn't end there though....
The following day I took her lunch at school (because Aunt Kim took her lunch ON her birthday). And I took a special surprise..... Mrs. Sara!! And Mrs. Sara brought her a yummy cupcake from the bakery! I'm pretty sure this is the face of a happy girl!
I can't believe I forgot to get a picture of her with Mrs. Sara!
And since Mrs. Sara doesn't like to leave anyone out when it comes to these two girls.... she sent a cupcake home to Macie Claire too!

I snapped this picture while we were hanging out at Pops and Memaw's house celebrating Josh and Brenna's birthdays. I love it!!
That rounds out the January 2018 highlights!
