Sunday at the Beach

Sunday morning we got up (slowly), and the guys went off to get groceries. We all took it slow and waited on them to get back. Josh and I thought that since the stores are always so crowded on Saturday with everyone checking in to their condos and going grocery shopping, that we would be smart and wait until Sunday morning and avoid the crowd! WRONG! Josh said it was worse than on Saturday! Schaef and Sarah said it wasn't bad on Saturday early when they stopped in. So I guess next time we will go on Saturday before check in and see if we can avoid the crowd that way.
But eventually they got back with enough groceries to feed an army (as always), we unloaded and were quickly beach bound!!
Unfortunately the water was still full of sea weed. YUCK! I've never seen Destin water look so gross. It's usually crystal clear and blue. No such luck this time. We had sea weed all over us each time we went out in the water. But we tried to not let that spoil our fun! It's hard to rain on my parade when I am in a beach chair soaking up the sun with my toes in the sand! Well, unless it does actually rain....that kind of put's a damper on my parade.
We made a full day of it! The kids and adults all had a blast. I never thought I would say this, but I am so thankful that we are past the nap stage. I used to not know how how I would make it through the day without my kiddos (ie Macie) taking a nap and letting me have a little break in the middle of the day. But now that they are bigger and we can do more things, it is amazing to go through the day and not worry about breaking for a nap!
Here is day 2 in pictures!
MELT me!!!! These two were in deep conversation.
Daddy and his girls.
It's not a trip to the beach without a picture of my toes in the sand.
These two had a great time playing together. But the seaweed made it pretty difficult to catch any fish. Their nets were full of green gunk every time they took them out.

They made friends with some kids across from us and decided to dig a tunnel from our big hole to theirs. Teamwork!

THIS was our big hole! No worries- I was sitting on my knees for the photo op for added dramatic effect.
They love it when their Daddy digs them a hole and makes a couch in it! They played with this forever!!
The three amigos.

These two are something else. The definition of great friends. They are constantly giving the other one a hard time, but it's all in fun. They would give the other one their last dime if they needed it.
Carter was pretty proud of their efforts with the tunnel. So was I!
Day 2 was another great one!! Nothing beats relaxing with your besties at the beach!
