I VOW to get this blog caught up before Thanksgiving!! And since I am just now blogging about July.... I've got a lot of work to do! Hang on....here we go!!
July was a great month! Lots of fun was had and memories made. Here are the highlights in pictures!
*On July 4th, we were exhausted from traveling home from the Great Vacation of 2016 the day before. We spent most of the day at home resting, doing laundry, and getting things put away. It was a total chore for sure! But we decided to get out that evening and see the grandparents because they were having withdrawals! Let's be honest- they didn't miss Josh and I. They missed the two little people who have entered the scene and taken over as "favorites". And I am totally ok with that. :) We saw Pops and Memaw first, and then headed over to Graddy and Kathy's to see them. They were having a get together, so there was food and friends galore. We were tired, but decided to stay and watch the fireworks. And I am glad we did! Hudson Oaks never disappoints! And the girls had a blast hanging out with Laramie and Katie!
* Dad and I got to go to the Ranger's game to celebrate his birthday and Father's Day! I had given him the tickets for Father's day. I love Daddy/Daughter dates! The Rangers had a horrible game, but the company was good, so we had a great time anyway! And the girls got to stay with Kathy for the evening. They were so excited and had a blast. They went and picked up Laramie and Katie and went to CiCi's for pizza and then shopping at 5 Below. Rumor has it that Macie mentioned that she loves blizzards, so they made a pit stop at Dairy Queen on the way home....Spoiled I tell ya!
They sent us a selfie on their way to get dinner! |
This man. WOW. I love him beyond words. And I am blessed to call him Daddy. |
A little pit stop by Mrs. Jackie's! I am sure she was worn smooth out after this crew left! |
Brenna and Baby |
Someone better tell Laramie that Macie is almost as big as she is! |
Silly girls! |
And this is the sight we came home to. Brenna controlling the remote to the TV and Macie passed smooth out in Mrs. Kathy's lap. Truth be told....I think they were both asleep when we walked in. :) |
*We enjoyed pool time with friends at the Baldwins. So. Many. Little. GIRLS!
*We did one of the hardest things I have had to do in a while...we said "see ya later" to our Aunt Kim. she moved to Rwanda with Uncle James. Not having her a phone call away has been hard. Especially on the girls. They adore their time with their Aunt Kim, and I had to work really hard to not let them get upset.
She gave them a bag full of note cards, pens, address labels for her, return address labels with our address on it, and lots of stamps. And told them that they could write her letters any time they wanted and mail them to Africa to her. Well, these two didn't waste any time getting right on that! They each wrote her a note that night telling her that they missed her..... Before she even left Weatherford! ha!
*Macie and Maylee baked cupcakes for the Summer Neighborhood party at the clubhouse. Truth be told, they only helped because I told them they could lick the beater... No worries- I unplugged it first.
*We made good use of our Six Flags Season Passes. And Macie was able to stretch JUST enough to be allowed to ride the Texas SkyScreamer! She was so proud of herself!
I was TERRIFIED the whole time we were on the ride! I had ridden it before- no problem. But suddenly knowing my 6 year old who stretched her way onto the ride was sitting beside me....40 stories in the air....made me a nervous wreck!!! AND Brenna was all alone behind us! Needless to say- next time I will take a second adult to ride these rides so that each kid has a partner. |
Brenna was tall enough to ride the new Riddler's Revenge! She was SO excited! Macie? Well, she couldn't stretch just right for this one, and tears ensued. Poor kiddo! She is a dare devil, and has bravery like no other....Now we just need to work on her height! |
*We made REALLY GOOD use of our Splash Kingdom passes! I think we went once a week all summer. It is so close to home, and just right for the girls. They can go and do their own thing, and I can sit in a chair and soak up some rays. NOTE: I don't get much sitting and relaxing done at Splash Kingdom. I may sit for a few minutes, but Macie makes sure it doesn't last long and she is back to check in and beg me to go to a slide or the lazy river with her. But at least she is old enough to go and ride with Brenna some by her self. That helps a ton!

Fun with Friends!
Kinley, her cousin, Wyatt, Maylee, Macie adn Brenna |
I love these two sweet girls and their friendship. They love each other something fierce and beg to play together every day. Yet they also fight like sisters. I am pretty sure that is what makes a great friendship! |
*We picked up our pillows from Mrs. Georgia Fay! After Emily had me a pillow made last year from one of Mom's pajama shirts, I knew I wanted to have the girls each one made from the Tshirts she had monogrammed with their names on them. So I finally got around to getting it done- and it turned out SO cute!!! The girls were super proud of them, which melted my heart.
*We met Marlin at Splash Kingdom to help with Z and Peanut. My girls loved getting to play with them. And I was reminded how tiring it is to have little ones! haha! But it was loads of fun and totally worth it! Afterwards, we brought the girls home with us for a while. It was a fun day with great friends!
Z didn't want to walk. And I was carrying Arleigh, and Marlin was carrying all the STUFF. So Brenna was her transportation method of choice! Hang on tight baby girl! Your'e almost as Big as BrenBren! |
Two big kids, and two little kids= good helpers!
And someone put Arleigh G in the water already! That baby just wants in the water!! |
B and Z had a blast! |
Lunch time! Za'Mariyah thinks she's a big girl just like them! |
A little trampoline time after naps. |
Oh my goodness- how I love this face!!!! This girl has my heart- and she knows it. |
Don't let the smiles fool you- they were not playing nice and sharing this chair due to their unfailing love for each other....they were fighting over the chair and I made them smile for a picture. Real life people....it's not always smiles and genuine picture poses. |
This girl played barbies in the water almost the whole time. |
*We spent one day (or technically one HOUR!) at Flight Deck with Aunt Emily, Wyatt, Walker, Staci, Kinsley and Kaden. The kids had a blast!
Wyatt, Brenna, Kinsley, and Macie |
*Josh and I enjoyed a date to the Ranger's game. We had a season ticket package, but only got to use it a couple of times. Finding a sitter to go to a game once a week or once every 2 weeks is a serious challenge! I keep telling myself that this is a "season" of life, and we will miss it when it's gone. And I know I will miss my girls being little, but man oh man am I looking forward to not having to find a sitter every time we want to go somewhere!!
*And finally...The Abner's came to visit and see us! We had a blast playing cards and just being together!
Macie always has to do Taron's hair. It's a tradition. |
WOW! That was a long post! And I know I am missing many, many fun things that we did this month, but this was the best I could do. Our summer was packed full of fun memories being made. Not a single wasted moment, and I loved it!
