Halloween 2017

Our first Halloween event of 2017 was the annual QSR hayride. It's one of our favorite traditions! And one of my favorite people joined us!! She may be a former Quail Springs rat....but she'll always be my current friend. (because, well, she knows too much! haha)

Macie and Maylee BOTH wanted to be Peppa Pig this year. So Brandi and I had to get creative with costume ideas.
The sun was a killer.
Brenna and Landry both decided on JoJo Siwa! Once again- I had to channel my inner creative side. (note- I have no inner creative side!)
Josh was our masked tractor driver.
Brandi and Jamie claimed they had to stay behind to get the hot dogs ready....I think they are just chickens!
The neighborhood hayride never disappoints! There is never a shortage of candy, and the kids always have fun!

This may have been staged....but still. LOL

Some of the neighbors decorate their mailboxes and put their candy out for the kids. This is our idea of "decorating" our mailbox!

I love that some of the neighbors get dressed up to pass out candy! Makes the ride so much more fun!
There were 3 tractor/trailers full of people!
Riley/Pool/Baldwin/Middleton clan!!(minus Madison)
Josh and his dates!
And this was the aftermath the next morning!
Holy Candy Batman!!
Our second adventure was our annual trip to the Central Christian Church Trunk or Treat! We have been going since Brenna was 1!This makes year #10!
Year #1
Year #2- Not sure why I don't have a picture of Tia this year...
Year #3 (Macie was a ladybug just like Tia this year! But was in the stroller)
Year #4 (Macie was the Cowardly Lion this year- but not pictured here)
Year #5 (Notice the repeat of costumes this year for child #2!)
Year #6 (Macie was sick and had to stay at Nina's while I took Brenna)
 Year #7
 Year #8
Year #9 (Maybe my favorite costumes to date!)
And finally....Year #10!!
I love these three and the bond they share so much! They have all grown up together (Sine B and Tia were 1!). And it doesn't matter the amount of time that goes by between visits, they all pick up right where they left off.
I pray they are always close.
I am forever thankful that Nikki and the whole Thurman family was placed in our lives. At the time it was a blessing in disguise because I shed many tears over the sitter we had for Brenna not being able to keep her any longer....but as always, God had a plan. He had Mrs. Nikki picked out for us! She was just what we needed. And He knew that these three would need each other.

For actual Halloween night, we opted to stay in and lay low. Since we had such a fun and busy weekend, it was nice to have a night of relaxing! I love that my girls recognize what is important in life....spending time with those we love and enjoy. SO those are the things they chose to do to celebrate Halloween!
